APPROACH AND METHODOLOGY

  • Scoping meeting to confirm and clarify aspects of the brief and requirements for the Lighthouse Station Videos and stills.
  • Film schedule planning including permissions from any land owners, special filming permissions, any health and safety requirements.
  • To visit and pinpoint within the designated areas that would work well for drone filming bearing in mind health and safety/ aerial obstructions etc.
  • To video drone and produce stills from the required locations
  • Having worked on various projects that involve aerial drone filming over water including, Great Western Railways (shot off the Devon coast), the Royal Arsenal Development in East London (shot over the River Thames) and also Port locations Dover and Eurotunnel, we are very experienced at working from land or boat based locations. We have specialist knowledge and experience of aerial filming with permissions over urban areas and in close proximity to civil airports (in the Royal Arsenal case – London and City Airport) and as seen in our show reel plenty of experience of filming from boats and over the sea.
  • With some of the Station locations such as Lundy, St Catherine’s, Needles and others  –  we would opt to shoot from a charter boat to avoid issues with landowners such as high location fees, dealing with shoot day specific permission (not allowing for unpredictable weather conditions) delays with permits and other problematic issues that would be encountered from a shore based start point.
We operate from a 4×4 so can access most off-road locations and have two 4K Drones (one as back-up), plenty of battery power, on-board generator to power charge on the move and/or during downtime. We have full CAA certification, permits and required insurances. Due to the safety of our custom made Drones, extensive experience and qualifications, we have CAA special exemption to film with minimum distance of 30 meters instead of the standard 50 meters. We will stay locally for the duration of the filming to take full advantage of the hours either side of the Low – light timeframes required and use weather conditions that would benefit the filming, sunset, sunrise etc. At the end of each day we log, ID and check the footage shot.We are a small and efficient team able to respond to events quickly. Our 20 years plus expertise with filming combined with offering a great blend of creativity, logistics skills, tenacity and experience make our team very well suited to this project.

EDIT

During the editing process we will upload to Vimeo/YouTube regular work-in-progress examples for feedback from The Trinity House team.

AN IMPORTANT NOTE FROM US

With the prevalence of video and stills image libraries providing a very large number of assets for licence and purchase – we feel very strongly that it is important to note that ALL work shown in our tender presentation (both video and stills) is original and created by us. No visuals have been ‘acquired’ for presentation. This can be verified 100% .
